What are facial fillers?
Facial fillers, also known as dermal fillers or soft tissue fillers—they are injectable substances used to treat signs of aging caused by loss of tissue volume, bone resorption and the reduction of fat pockets. The most common and biocompatible filler is hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance in the human body that promotes hydration, elasticity and collagen production.
Fillers are used to: Rebuild the volume of the cheeks, define the jawline and chin, smooth the hollows under the eyes (tear channels), reduce nasolabial folds and puppet lines, correct perioral lines and fine wrinkles, improve the shape and fullness of the lips and improve facial symmetry.
Each product is selected and injected based on viscosity, elasticity and depth—guarantee a personalized result that respects the anatomy and aesthetics of each patient.
You can be a good candidate if you have
- Loss of volume in the cheeks, temples, jaw, or lips
- Visible facial creases or wrinkles
- Early skin laxity or loss of contour
- Facial asymmetry or imbalance
- Fine lines around the eyes or mouth
- Skin with reduced hydration and elasticity
This procedure is not recommended if you have
- Active skin infections or inflammations
- Serious allergies or known sensitivity to the filler
- Uncontrolled autoimmune conditions
- Unrealistic expectations or a desire for dramatic transformation
- Pregnancy or breast-feeding
Benefits of facial fillers
Undergoing plastic surgery with Dr. César López means more than simply refining a feature: it's about restoring balance, regaining confidence, and achieving results that feel as good as they look. Each procedure is designed not only to improve specific areas of the face or body, but also to improve overall harmony, comfort and well-being.
Restoration of structural volumes
By selectively placing the filler at strategic anchor points (such as the cheekbone, chin, or temple), Dr. López restores volume where it was lost due to aging, helping to restore the youthfulness of the scaffolding.
Natural contour refinement
The well-placed padding smooths transitions between facial regions (from the middle of the face to the lower part of the face, from the orbit to the cheek) and corrects shaded areas without adding visible “volume”.
Improving skin hydration and texture
Some hyaluronic acid fillers are designed to improve skin hydration at the dermal level, increasing elasticity and shine even in patients without significant volume loss.
Highly customizable
Dr. López uses several types of filler in one session, adapting texture, density and integration behavior according to the movement and support needs of each region.
The process and recovery
Both surgical and recovery processes follow a safe line, personally guided by Dr. López.
01
Personalized planning
Facial fillers are performed in a certified operating room at a hospital with local or general anesthesia, depending on the extent of the procedure.

02
Procedure
Facial fillers take 30 to 60 minutes and use anesthetic agents or lidocaine-based products. Results appear immediately and are refined for 7 to 10 days.
03
Early recovery
Mild swelling or redness may occur and usually resolve within 24 to 48 hours. Avoid heat, strenuous activities, or facial massages during this time. Bruising is rare, but it can occur.

04
Follow-up care
The filler settles in its final position as hydration is balanced. Subtle changes in volume may occur, but there are no visible signs of treatment.
05
Final results
The final results are evaluated and optional tweaks or complementary treatments, such as neuromodulators, may be recommended. A long-term plan for maintaining facial balance is discussed. Most fillers last 6 to 12 months, while denser fillers can last up to 18; results gradually fade and touch-ups are adapted as needed.

Do you have any questions?
We're here to help. Send us your questions and our team will answer clearly and carefully. Your comfort, safety and peace of mind are important to us.
Can I combine fillers with other treatments?
Yes. Many patients combine fillers with neuromodulators, skin reinforcements, laser treatments, or even surgery, depending on their needs. Dr. Lopez will work out a complete treatment plan with you.
Are fillers permanent?
No. Most hyaluronic acid fillers are temporary and reabsorb naturally for 6 to 18 months. This allows for periodic adjustments as the anatomy evolves.
Do fillers stretch the skin?
When injected properly and in appropriate volumes, fillers do not stretch or damage the skin. They support and moisturize tissues, often improving skin quality.
What happens if I stop receiving refills?
Your face will gradually return to its pre-treatment state. There are no long-term side effects if treatment is paused or discontinued.
